Symbols are an essential part in communication of information on labels of IVD Medical devices - you can find them in virtually all labels.
The European Diagnostics Manufacturers Association has prepared a Guidance on User Awareness of Symbols harmonised under the IVD Directive, along with the translation into various languages  The multilingual document, updated in January 2011, is available here (Awareness of Symbols).

Who we are

iso9001_2008 Williams Language Solutions provides Translation, Editing and Proof-reading (TEP) of written documentation including Patents.

Originally founded by Stefania De Angelis Williams to provide English into Italian translations, Williams Language Solutions is proud to have developed strategic alliances with freelance translators, consultants, editing and design companies in Europe and the US, to provide the clients with high quality translation and editing services in most European languages. Stefania still actively works as an English into Italian translator working directly with many clients and agencies (working effectively as a “freelance translator” in this case), and also coordinates multilingual projects. She is usually the first point of contacts for the clients.

The company is best described as a network of professional translators proactively working to ensure clear and correct transfer of information from one language to another.
The latest ICT solutions are employed to increase performance, speed up work and nurture business contacts.

Translations

WLS offers translation services in a variety of fields. Our team of certified translators combine their strengths to provide you with high quality translations.

All our translators are qualified and accredited and are allocated to each project according to their skills and experience.

The stages of a translation job include:

Patent translations

We translate patents from English into Italian and viceversa. Our regular clients include Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys in UK and Europe, inventors, and translation agencies.We translate patents and patents related texts (claims, abstracts, etc.) for the following purposes:
  • Patent applications to patent offices
  • Prior Art research
  • We also have a DTP department to prepare drawings with translated text, and/or to prepare drawings for patents.
